Thailand’s KASIKORNBANK (KBank) has announced the launch of its new Tap-and-Pay service through Google Pay, allowing customers to make payments using their smartphones. This service aims to provide easy, fast, and card-free transactions worldwide.

Natthapol Luepromchai, Executive Vice President of KBank, and Jenny Cheng, Vice President and General Manager of Google Wallet, introduced the integration of KBank Visa Credit Card with Google Pay.

Android smartphone users can now tap their devices to pay at any merchant accepting Google Pay or contactless payments, eliminating the need for a physical card.

To use this service, customers need to download the Google Wallet app from the Play Store and add their KBank Visa Credit Card.

After verifying their identity, they can set the card as the default payment method. Payments can then be made by simply tapping the smartphone at any merchant that accepts Google Pay or contactless payments.

According to the Bank of Thailand’s “The Way We Pay 2023” report, digital payment channels have grown consistently over the past four years, with credit cards being the most popular payment method in Thailand, averaging 1,293 Baht per transaction.
